Ubisoft Raises ‘Just Dance’ Subscription Costs Amid Restructuring Efforts
In a strategic move amid its ongoing corporate restructuring, Ubisoft has announced plans to raise subscription prices for Just Dance+. Effective from April 2026, these changes come shortly after the company revealed significant cutbacks across its gaming portfolio.
Details on Subscription Price Increases
The Just Dance+ service, which launched in November 2022, allows players to access an extensive library of songs. With the upcoming price adjustments, subscribers can expect the following changes:
- 1 Month Pass: New price $4.99 / 4,99€ (previously $3.99 / 3,99€)
- 3 Month Pass: New price $12.99 / 12,99€ (previously $9.99 / 9,99€)
- 12 Month Pass: New price $29.99 / 29,99€ (previously $24.99 / 24,99€)
New Content and Features
Despite the price hike, the service will continue to provide new songs, including tracks such as “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & The Waves, “Toxic” by Britney Spears, and “Dynamite” by BTS. A second release of new tracks is scheduled for February 10, 2026.
Company Restructuring Context
This announcement follows significant restructuring at Ubisoft. The company recently canceled six upcoming titles, including the much-anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. The ongoing changes reflect a broader initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, including a focus on live services and emerging technologies such as generative AI.
Furthermore, reports indicate that Ubisoft’s Paris headquarters is pursuing cost-reduction measures, which may include voluntary redundancies. This comes in the wake of a call to strike organized by the French union Solidaires Informatique last week.
As the price increase approaches, it remains to be seen how existing Just Dance+ subscribers will respond. Will they continue their membership despite the higher costs? Let us know your thoughts.
