Delhi Braces for Rain as IMD Issues Yellow Alert
A strong western disturbance is currently impacting northern India, leading to significant weather changes. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, forecasting rain and thundershowers accompanied by strong gusty winds.
Delhi Weather Forecast
For Tuesday, the temperature in Delhi is expected to reach a maximum of 19°C and a minimum of about 9°C. This weather change is attributed to the ongoing western disturbance, which has resulted in cloud cover and cooler temperatures across the city.
Precipitation and Wind Conditions
- Expected rain and thundershowers in Delhi.
- Strong winds may reach speeds up to 60 km/h.
- Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at a poor level of 281 as of Tuesday morning.
Rainfall and Snowfall Forecast
The IMD also predicts light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in the western Himalayan region on January 27 and 28. Isolated heavy rain or snowfall, along with hailstorms, is anticipated on January 27.
Weekly Weather Outlook for Delhi
- January 28: Moderate fog in the morning, temperatures between 12°C and 18°C.
- January 29-30: Similar conditions with minimum temperatures around 9°C and maximums near 19°C.

The unusual cold snap was caused by clear skies and icy northwesterly winds over the weekend, contributing to the dramatic drop in temperatures.
