The Seattle Seahawks have made significant roster changes ahead of the NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams. Running back George Holani and tight end Elijah Arroyo were activated from injured reserve, enhancing the team’s depth for this crucial matchup.

George Holani’s Return

George Holani, a reserve running back, has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury. This injury occurred during the Seahawks’ victory over the Tennessee Titans on November 23, where the team won 30-24. Holani expressed excitement about returning to practice, stating, “It feels great to be back with the guys.” His regular season performance included 73 rushing yards and one touchdown on 22 carries.

With Zach Charbonnet out for the playoffs due to a knee injury requiring surgery, Holani’s return is seen as vital for the Seahawks’ running game. Head coach Mike Macdonald commented on Holani’s fitness, saying, “George is in great shape. Working his tail off. Excited to get him out there.” Holani is expected to serve as a backup to starting running back Kenneth Walker III.

Elijah Arroyo’s Status

Elijah Arroyo, a rookie tight end drafted in the second round from Miami, also returns after missing the last four regular-season games and the postseason victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Arroyo’s presence is hoped to strengthen the Seahawks’ offense during this pivotal game.

Roster Adjustments

To accommodate Holani and Arroyo’s activation, the Seahawks placed Zach Charbonnet and guard Bryce Cabeldue on injured reserve. This decision illustrates the challenges the team faces due to injuries but underscores their commitment to field a competitive squad.
