UofL Basketball Reschedules Games Amid Weather Concerns

In light of an impending winter storm, the University of Louisville (UofL) has made significant changes to their basketball schedule this weekend. Both the men’s and women’s games have been rescheduled to ensure player and spectator safety.

UofL Basketball Schedule Changes

The men’s basketball game against Virginia Tech has been moved from its original time of 3:30 p.m. to an earlier tip-off at 2:15 p.m. This game will take place at the KFC Yum! Center and will be available for viewing on The CW.

Similarly, the UofL women’s game against Boston College, originally set for Sunday, is now scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. This matchup will be streamed live on ACCNX.

Team Rankings and Recent Performance

  • The UofL men’s team is currently ranked 23rd in the nation.
  • They recently achieved a dominant 41-point victory over Pittsburgh.
  • The women’s team holds the 8th position nationally after defeating NC State 88-80 in overtime.

Upcoming Matchups

After the weekend games, the UofL men will face No. 5 Duke in Durham on Monday. This encounter serves as a rematch of their earlier meeting on January 6, where Duke secured an 11-point win over UofL. Meanwhile, the women’s team, coached by Jeff Walz, will compete against Stanford on Thursday, marking their only face-off this season.

Additional Schedule Adjustments

Aside from UofL, Bellarmine’s women’s basketball game against Jacksonville has also been adjusted. This game, initially set for Saturday at 2 p.m., will now occur at 11 a.m. to prepare for the storm.

These changes reflect UofL’s commitment to the safety of its athletes and fans amid weather concerns. Fans are encouraged to stay updated on schedules and viewership options as the situation evolves.
