The Australian Open is set to feature exciting matches on January 24, showcasing several prominent players. Due to high temperatures forecasted in Melbourne, match schedules have been adjusted for comfort and efficiency.

Match Schedule: Musetti, Darderi, and Sinner

Leading the day, Lorenzo Musetti, ranked 5th, will compete against Tomas Machac, ranked 24th. Their match starts at 00:30 CET on the John Cain Arena. This will be the second meeting between the two, with Machac winning their previous encounter decisively 6-3, 6-2 at an indoor event in Marseille.

Simultaneously on the Kia Arena, Luciano Darderi, ranked 22nd, faces off against the 18th seed, Karen Khachanov, who was a semifinalist at the Australian Open in 2023. This will be their first match against each other.

Jannik Sinner is scheduled to take the court at approximately 02:30 CET on the Rod Laver Arena, competing against Eliot Spizzirri, ranked 85th. This is also their first meeting in professional play.

Women’s Doubles Action

At the same time as Sinner’s match, Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani will be playing in the women’s doubles category on the ANZ Arena. They are set to face the Australian duo of Kimberly Birrell, ranked 149th, and Talia Gibson, ranked 263rd. The Italian pair is seeded second and is expected to navigate this match with ease.

Mornings Matches Featuring Djokovic and Swiatek

Earlier in the day, Novak Djokovic, currently ranked 4th, will compete against Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp, ranked 75th, at 09:00 CET on the Rod Laver Arena. The two have met once before, with their head-to-head standing at 1-1, after van de Zandschulp’s upset victory last year at Indian Wells.

At the same time on Margaret Court Arena, the second seed, Iga Swiatek, will take on Anna Kalinskaya, ranked 33rd. Swiatek leads their overall match history at 2-1.
