FF7 Remake Part 3 Enhances Iconic Minigames for Fans

Director Naoki Hamaguchi recently provided insights into the much-anticipated third chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake series. In a discussion with Polygon, he confirmed that the new installment will continue to feature popular minigames, specifically highlighting the return of the fan-favorite “Queen’s Blood.”

Queen’s Blood and Other Minigames

In the third installment, the well-received minigame—where players collect cards and build decks for tactical-grid battles—will be updated with enhanced features. Hamaguchi expressed enthusiasm for “Queen’s Blood,” stating, “We want to expand on it, giving you a more powered-up version.”

Additionally, Hamaguchi emphasized that other minigames will also play a significant role, particularly the iconic snowboarding minigame from the original Final Fantasy 7. This segment will provide players an immersive experience while also aligning with the game’s overarching narrative.

Snowboarding Minigame Insights

The snowboarding gameplay will require players to guide Cloud through the Great Glacier while avoiding obstacles like snowmen and trees. Hamaguchi acknowledged the nostalgia associated with this minigame. “We want to ensure that it’s not just a simple snowboarding experience; it should connect deeply with the story,” he mentioned.

Development Progress Update

In terms of development, Hamaguchi revealed that the third part is progressing smoothly and is tracking on schedule. He stated, “I believe we are coming along very smoothly. The game is technically playable, but we are focused on polishing it to ensure high quality for our players.”
