CBS Renews ‘NCIS’ Series, ‘Tracker,’ ‘Matlock’ and More—Which Shows Face Cancellation?
CBS has made significant updates to its lineup for the 2026-2027 season. On January 22, the network announced the renewal of 10 shows, expanding its roster for the upcoming season. This brings the total to 16 confirmed series, following previous announcements of renewals and two new additions: Cupertino and Einstein.
CBS Renewals for 2026-2027 Season
The renewed shows include some of CBS’s top-performing series:
- Tracker (Season 4)
- George & Mandy’s First Marriage (Season 3)
- Matlock (Season 3)
- Elsbeth (Season 4)
- Fire Country (Season 5)
- NCIS (Season 24)
- NCIS: Origins (Season 3)
- NCIS: Sydney (Season 4)
- Survivor (Season 51)
- The Amazing Race (Season 39)
Alongside these, CBS previously announced the renewal of:
- Boston Blue (Season 2)
- Sheriff Country (Season 2)
- FBI (Season 9)
- Ghosts (Season 6)
New Series Coming to CBS
In addition to renewals, two new series are set to debut:
- Cupertino – featuring Robert and Michelle King with Mike Colter
- Einstein – starring Matthew Gray Gubler, marking his return to CBS
This expansion is notable since CBS is home to five of the top 11 entertainment series. Currently, there are six shows where CBS has yet to announce their future:
- Big Brother
- DMV
- Harlan Coben’s Final Twist
- Hollywood Squares
- The Road
- Watson
Upcoming Milestones and Changes
Significant events are on the horizon for several series. NCIS is set to celebrate its landmark 500th episode on March 17. Fire Country will see a new showrunner, as Tia Napolitano is stepping down. Survivor’s renewal is timely, coinciding with its milestone 51st season premiere on February 25.
Additionally, FBI will conclude its multi-year pickup with its last season starting in April 2024. A new series, CIA, featuring Tom Ellis and Nick Gehlfuss, is also scheduled for a February release, expanding the network’s universe further.
