Hochul noted that revenues from Wall Street bonuses have significantly influenced state finances. “Protesters led pro-Hamas chants outside of a synagogue; that’s not free expression, that’s harassment,” Hochul stated, justifying the need for such measures.

3. Changes to Auto Insurance Regulations

The governor intends to modify definitions of “serious physical injury” under New York law, a move she claims will reduce auto insurance premiums. Critics argue that this proposal could hinder compensation for accident victims.
