The song has an intriguing backstory, dating back fifteen years. It was originally part of a postponed project intended to feature collaborations with Jim White and Warren Ellis. However, those plans dissolved due to logistical challenges stemming from Ellis’s commitments to performing with Nick Cave.
Despite its long history, Callahan recently finished the track, ensuring it aligned with the themes of his new album. He expressed satisfaction with how the song has evolved and found relevance as life has changed around him.
