Adobe Commits $10M to Film & TV Fund, Partners with Amelia Dimoldenberg
Adobe has made a significant commitment by pledging nearly $10 million in grants and product donations to support filmmakers in 2024. This initiative marks the company’s first effort to directly fund creators. The newly established Film and TV Fund will channel support through community partners, allowing industry and community organizations to nominate recipients.
Partners and Beneficiaries of the Film & TV Fund
The Film & TV Fund is set to support various community organizations throughout 2026. Prominent beneficiaries include:
- Group Effort Initiative (founded by Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively)
- USC Annenberg School of Communications
- NAACP
- Gold House
- Sundance Ignite
- Rideback RISE, which focuses on assisting mid-career artists of color.
- Dimz Inc. Academy, led by Amelia Dimoldenberg, creator of “Chicken Shop.”
Dimoldenberg’s academy offers a free summer program designed for individuals aged 18 to 24 from underrepresented backgrounds. This program provides valuable training in ideation, storytelling, production, and video editing. Following a successful one-week pilot last year, the workshop will now expand to four weeks.
Quotes and Impact
Dimoldenberg shared her enthusiasm regarding the program, stating, “My experience in a youth-run project laid the foundation for my career. I hope to provide similar opportunities through Dimz Inc. Academy. With Adobe’s support, we can create something truly impactful this year.”
Adobe is also enhancing its support for the Sundance and Adobe Ignite Fellowship, a program aimed at emerging filmmakers aged 18 to 25. This expansion includes a new short film fund for Ignite alumni.
Showcasing Talent at Sundance
The announcement of the Film & TV Fund precedes the Sundance Film Festival, where several recipients will premiere their projects. Notable films being showcased include:
- Bedford Park – Writer-director: Stephanie Ahn (supported via Gold House)
- American Pachuco – Editor: Daniel Chavez (supported via Rideback RISE)
- Marga en el DF – Editor: Monica Salazar (supported via Rideback RISE)
- Pankaja – Director: Anooya Swamy (Adobe x Ignite fellow)
Amy White, Adobe’s global head of corporate social responsibility, emphasized the importance of supporting creators. “This year, we are dedicating nearly $10M to filmmakers to ensure they have the tools and resources needed to bring their visions to life,” she remarked. The ongoing partnership with Sundance, lasting over 15 years, highlights the company’s commitment to nurturing bold new voices in storytelling.
