Tragic Ute Crash Kills 12-Year-Old Girl and Two Others
In a devastating accident in southern Queensland, three people lost their lives, including a 12-year-old girl. The crash involved a collision between two large utes, a Dodge Ram and a Ford Ranger, on the Bunya Highway at Taabinga. The incident occurred shortly after 10 PM on Monday.
Details of the Crash
Authorities report that a 44-year-old woman was driving the Ford Ranger, accompanied by two young girls, aged 12 and 13. Tragically, both the driver and the 12-year-old girl perished at the crash site. Additionally, the male driver of the Dodge Ram also died.
The impact caused the Dodge to catch fire. Fortunately, the 13-year-old girl survived the accident. She was initially taken to Kingaroy Hospital but was then airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Investigation and Road Closures
In light of the incident, the Bunya Highway is closed near the intersection of Stuart Valley Drive and Toomeys Road. The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
