The police received a call about the incident at approximately 6:35 a.m. local time. The woman had reportedly gone for a swim around 5 a.m. before her body was found. She had been living on the island and working at a backpacker’s hostel for the last six weeks.
Discovery of the Body
Two men visiting the beach made the grim discovery of her body and immediately contacted the police. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the woman’s death.
