London Art Gallery Offers Free Yoga Classes Amid Exhibitions
As a response to the challenges of winter, Tate Britain is organizing a series of wellness activities. This initiative aims to provide a positive distraction during the darker months of January. Among the offerings, free yoga classes will be available, inviting participants to enhance both their physical and mental well-being.
Free Yoga Classes at Tate Britain
The yoga sessions will be held in one of the gallery’s grand exhibition spaces, allowing participants to practice yoga surrounded by renowned art. These classes are organized in collaboration with MoreYoga, a prominent studio in London. Below are the details:
- Morning Sessions: January 16, 21, and 24, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
- Evening Sessions: January 20 and 22, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
- Location: Room 8 of Tate Britain
Participants will have the unique experience of practicing yoga while surrounded by masterpieces, including John William Waterhouse’s “The Lady of Shalott” and John Singer Sargent’s “Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose.”
Tate Collective Wellness Week Activities
The yoga classes are part of Tate Collective’s Wellness Week. In addition to yoga, the week features:
- Two life-drawing sessions by 2B or Not 2B
- Free coffee at the Djanogly cafe
To participate in these activities, individuals must join the Tate Collective, which is free for anyone aged 16 to 25. Members also enjoy special benefits, including access to all Tate exhibitions for just £5 and discounts at gallery shops and cafes.
