Tarleton State Women’s Basketball Gears Up for Purple Out Game Thursday at EECU Center

Tarleton State Women’s Basketball is set to hold its annual “Purple Out” game this Thursday at the EECU Center. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. as the Texans face off against Southern Utah in a crucial match. This game marks the start of a three-game homestand for the Texans, who will also debut their newly built EECU Center.

Ava Uhrich, a standout player for the Texans, received the title of WAC Player of the Week on Monday, marking her second weekly accolade of the season.

• Shadaisa Brackens: Brackens has made a significant impact during her first season with the Texans. She was named Western Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week on December 23. Brackens has achieved six double-doubles faster than any other Texan since the 2016-17 season and is currently leading Tarleton State in rebounding.
• Career Statistics: Before her tenure at Tarleton State, Brackens played 51 games for North Texas, accumulating 143 points and 82 rebounds.

New Additions to the Team

This season, Tarleton State Women’s Basketball boasts a roster featuring 12 newcomers out of a total of 15 players. This brings the team to have the seventh most newcomers in NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball. Among the new faces are four Division I transfers and multiple junior college transfers, replacing eight departing seniors from the previous season.
