Ex-NBA Star Arrested in Virginia for Robbery and Assault Charges

Former NBA player Delonte West was arrested in Fairfax County, Virginia last month on charges of robbery and assault. Police reported that on December 21, an assault and robbery incident involving West occurred around 6:36 a.m.

Details of the Arrest

Law enforcement officials stated that a victim contacted them regarding the incident. Officers located West nearby and took him into custody. The 42-year-old is facing serious charges which include:

• Robbery
• Assault

While authorities did not disclose the exact sum stolen, it was confirmed to be less than $50. After the arrest, West was released on a $1,000 bond.

Previous Charges and Incidents

This arrest is not West’s first encounter with Fairfax County police. In June 2024, he was involved in a police chase that necessitated police administering Narcan. At that time, he received a warrant for violating conditions of release, along with a charge for resisting arrest.
