Cowboys’ DaRon Bland Successfully Completes Foot Surgery

DaRon Bland, the cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, recently underwent successful surgery on his left foot. The procedure took place in Indianapolis, performed by Dr. David Porter. This marks the second time in consecutive years that Bland has had surgery on the same foot.

Injury History and Recent Surgery

Bland participated in 12 games during the 2025 season but was placed on injured reserve for the final three games due to foot issues. Earlier in the season, he also missed Weeks 2 and 3 after injuring his right foot in practice. The latest surgery comes after he sustained a fracture in his left foot during training camp before the 2024 season, which required an initial surgical procedure.

Concerns from Management

The repeated surgeries on his left foot have raised concerns among the Cowboys’ management. Jerry Jones, the team’s owner and general manager, expressed unease regarding Bland’s situation. He remarked, “I’m not a doctor… but I don’t like that at all. You have to watch feet, relative to the future.”

Contract Extension

In August, the Cowboys secured Bland’s services with a four-year contract extension worth $92 million. This decision came two years after Bland’s remarkable performance in 2023, where he set the NFL record for most pick-sixes in a season with five.

Future Outlook

Despite the challenges posed by injuries, Jones affirmed the team’s commitment to Bland. He praised the athlete’s dedication to rehabilitation, stating, “He has been everything you could ask for relative to his rehab, relative to his competes.”

The team is optimistic that Bland will have a productive offseason. They hope this period will allow him to fully recover from his foot issues, ensuring he is ready to return for the 2026 season.
