FC Cincinnati has officially signed forward Kristian Fletcher, marking a significant addition to its roster. This contract extends through the 2026 season, with options to continue through the 2027 and 2028 Major League Soccer (MLS) seasons.
Details of the Signing
The signing was announced on January 13, 2026, and is a strategic move for the Orange and Blue. FC Cincinnati has also acquired the right of first refusal (ROFR) from D.C. United for Fletcher in exchange for $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) for 2027. Furthermore, they could pay up to an additional $200,000 in conditional GAM based on Fletcher’s performance metrics. D.C. United will retain a percentage of any future transfer or trade involving Fletcher.
Player Background
At just 20 years old, Fletcher has shown remarkable promise. He previously signed as a Homegrown Player with D.C. United in 2023 after spending two seasons with Loudoun United in the USL Championship. In his time with Loudoun, he netted four goals in 17 appearances.
Fletcher made his MLS debut for D.C. United on August 31, 2022, against New York City FC. Throughout his time in MLS, he has made 28 appearances, contributing two goals and two assists. His experience also extends to international play, as he spent considerable time on loan in England.
