Paramount Pictures Chiefs Goldberg, Greenstein Unveil Bold Film Plans at CinemaCon
Paramount Pictures chiefs Goldberg and Greenstein made their first major public appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The pair spoke at Caesars Palace to an audience of movie theater owners.
New leadership at a historic studio
Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein were installed eight months ago to lead Paramount Pictures. Their appointment creates a co-leadership model at the legacy studio.
The arrangement mirrors another two-person leadership team at Warner Bros., led by Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy. Paramount Skydance boss David Ellison is reportedly in the process of acquiring Warner Bros.
Distribution and theatrical strategy
Ellison announced a 45-day exclusive theatrical window before films head to video-on-demand. The move aims to strengthen the theatrical business.
Goldberg said the studio will deliver 15 theatrical films in 2026. That total is nearly double the prior year.
Originals and genre diversity
Greenstein said the studio will back originals across many genres. He named the film “High Side,” directed by James Mangold and starring Timothée Chalamet.
They emphasized taking bold creative bets and supporting filmmakers willing to take risks.
Franchise development
Paramount has development underway on multiple core franchises. These include Transformers, Star Trek, G.I. Joe, and a sequel to Top Gun: Maverick.
Highlighted titles and partnerships
Goldberg highlighted a slate of distinctive projects and deals. Paramount plans to revive irreverent R-rated comedies as part of a Miramax agreement.
The studio also announced a new Jackass film, from Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze and Jeff Tremaine. Damien Chazelle’s next film is on the slate, starring Cillian Murphy, Daniel Craig and Michelle Williams.
- “Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and Tomorrow,” directed by Siân Heder, will star Daisy Edgar-Jones.
- Teyana Taylor’s directorial debut, “Get Lite,” drew comparisons to dance classics like Flashdance and Footloose.
Team dynamics and outlook
Greenstein stressed the importance of their partnership. The two have known and admired each other for over a decade.
He recalled their first meeting during the production of True Grit. That early collaboration helped shape their working relationship.
Their CinemaCon presentation outlined a clear bet on theaters and bold content. Industry attendees left with a firmer sense of Paramount’s direction.
