Chicago Sky Acquires Skylar Diggins as Free Agent
The Chicago Sky announced the signing of veteran point guard Skylar Diggins on Saturday. A source familiar with the deal says the contract runs two years.

The move signals the Sky want to compete now instead of rebuilding. The team recently parted ways with Angel Reese in a trade.
Diggins joins fellow free-agent pickup Azurá Stevens. Stevens spent three seasons in Chicago and won a title there in 2021.

Stevens is expected to replace Reese as the starting power forward. She will likely pair with franchise center Kamilla Cardoso.
Stevens shoots 35 percent for her career from long range. Her spacing should help the Sky’s offense.

Chicago also traded a 2028 first-round pick to acquire Jacy Sheldon. Sheldon was the No. 5 pick in the 2024 draft.
She has averaged 6.3 points and 2.2 assists across two seasons. The Sky appear focused on short-term upgrades.

Diggins’ departure leaves Seattle looking ahead. The Storm also lost All-Stars Nneka Ogwumike and Brittney Sykes to Los Angeles and Toronto.
Multiple sources told Filmogaz.com that Gabby Williams is expected to find a new team. The Golden State Valkyries have been active in pursuing the French national.
Looking ahead to 2028
The 2028 draft class projected by evaluators includes UConn’s Sarah Strong. Other names likely to be available are Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes and South Carolina’s Joyce Edwards.
