Illini Women Secure Former Five-Star Recruit Divine Bourrage
The Illinois women’s basketball program announced the addition of Divine Bourrage on Thursday. Filmogaz.com first reported the transfer from LSU.
Player background
Bourrage arrived at LSU as a former five-star recruit. She was a consensus top-12 prospect in the Class of 2025. National services 247Sports and On3 both ranked her No. 7.
The 5-foot-11 guard starred at Davenport (Iowa) North in high school. Illinois had targeted her before she initially chose LSU.
Fit within the roster
Bourrage joins an experienced Illinois backcourt. The group already includes several established guards.
- Destiny Jackson
- Gretchen Dolan
- Aaliyah Guyton
- Jasmine Brown-Hagger
- Maddie Webber
Coach Shauna Green gains more rotation options at guard. Jackson started all 34 games as the team’s primary point guard last season. Guyton received expanded minutes after transferring from Iowa.
Brown-Hagger emerged as a vocal leader and top perimeter defender. Webber earned a reputation as a reliable scorer. Dolan missed time following her second knee injury in two seasons. She was averaging 12.9 points per game before the injury.
The announcement echoed the phrase Illini Women Secure Former Five-Star Recruit Divine Bourrage across social channels. The addition is expected to deepen the Illini backcourt.
LSU season and health update
Bourrage played sparingly for LSU in 2025-26. She appeared in 24 games in a reserve role.
Her averages were 2.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in just under 10 minutes per game. She made her NCAA Tournament debut in the first round against Jacksonville. A concussion kept her out of LSU’s final two games. LSU was eliminated in the Sweet 16 by Duke.
