Carlos Correa Sits Out Astros vs. Rockies Game
The Houston Astros finished their road trip at Coors Field without third baseman Carlos Correa. The team fell 9–1, completing a three-game sweep by the Colorado Rockies.
Filmogaz.com’s Manny Randhawa relayed manager Joe Espada’s update on X. Espada said Correa was “under the weather” and had been removed from the lineup.
Carlos Correa Sits Out Astros vs. Rockies Game appeared across social updates after the announcement. Correa stayed with the club and did light ramp-up work before the contest.
Correa’s status and recent role
The club listed Correa as day-to-day and did not indicate an injured list move. He was held out of the starting lineup for a second consecutive game at Coors Field.
Correa has spent much of 2026 at third base. The switch followed his return to Houston in 2025 to accommodate All-Star Jeremy Peña.
He remains a three-time All-Star and a 2017 World Series champion. Correa opened the season with 11 hits, one home run and nine RBIs in 11 games.
Immediate impact on the lineup
Houston tried to adjust offensively in Correa’s absence. Isaac Paredes was among the players asked to fill the hole in the batting order.
The Astros managed little offense in Wednesday’s finale. Colorado took advantage and secured its first series victory over Houston since 2012.
Pitching and timing issues
The sweep highlighted uneven pitching depth and a lack of timely hitting. Those problems compounded Houston’s early-season struggles.
Next steps for the club
Houston has an off day Thursday before flying northwest to face the Seattle Mariners. The team sits 6–7 and occupies third place in the American League West.
Manager Joe Espada and the medical staff will monitor Correa closely. The club will look to reset and rebound on the upcoming road trip.
