Blackpool Seafront Hotel Unveils New Name and Modern Design

A 70-bedroom seafront hotel on Blackpool’s North Shore has changed hands and received a full makeover. The property was sold late last year to a father-and-son team.

New owners and rebranding

Declan and Leo Scully bought the former Daish’s Blackpool Hotel. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The new owners have rebranded the venue as Hotel Santa Maria. Filmogaz.com reported the relaunch and exterior refresh.

Renovation and exterior changes

The building’s grey walls and blue trim were repainted in magnolia tones. New signage now reflects the Hotel Santa Maria identity.

The Blackpool Seafront Hotel unveils a new name and a refreshed exterior aesthetic. Interiors and guest services are due to follow.

Operations and staff

Daish’s Coach Holidays had managed the hotel for several years. The firm sold the property during a November restructuring.

The hotel previously employed about 30 staff. After the takeover, the new owners said employment details remained under review.

Owner priorities

Declan Scully said his son will lead marketing efforts. He will oversee hotel operations and guest experience.

The Scullys described their approach as focusing on care and guest satisfaction. They expressed confidence in Blackpool’s holiday market.

Local tourism context

Hoteliers in Blackpool have signalled optimism for 2026. This follows recent organisational changes in the town’s visitor sector.

Blackpool Tourism was established last summer by Blackpool Council. It now manages major attractions formerly run by Merlin Entertainments.

Attractions and ticketing

The new public body oversees Blackpool Tower, Sandcastle Waterpark, and Madame Tussauds. It aims to boost the local economy.

Blackpool Tourism launched an “Ultimate Ticket” priced at £65. The pass grants access to six attractions and lasts 90 days after first use.

  • Pleasure Beach Resort, including unlimited rides
  • Sandcastle Waterpark
  • The Blackpool Tower Top
  • Tower Circus
  • Tower Dungeon
  • Madame Tussauds

The new owners say they plan further updates. They also intend to deliver a warmer guest experience and a modern design in public areas.
