Samsung Galaxy Devices to Receive AirDrop in New Beta Update
Samsung has announced the expansion of AirDrop functionality through its Quick Share feature to a broader range of Galaxy devices. This development, aimed at enhancing file-sharing capabilities, requires users to install a specific software update.
Expansion of AirDrop Over Quick Share
Initially introduced on Google’s Pixel phones, AirDrop support via Quick Share was recently rolled out to the Galaxy S26 series. Now, Samsung is extending this feature to an additional ten Galaxy smartphones.

The following Galaxy models are confirmed to receive AirDrop functionality:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25+
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Galaxy Z Flip 5
- Galaxy S24
- Galaxy S24+
- Galaxy S24 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 6
- Galaxy Z Flip 6
The Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy S24 FE may also be included, though this has not yet been confirmed by Samsung.
How to Access the New Feature
To utilize the AirDrop capability, users must install the One UI 8.5 beta version. This beta version is readily available for download through the Samsung Members app. However, potential users should be cautious, as beta updates often come with bugs and performance issues.
