Season 5 reunites Ava Daniels, played by Einbinder, with comedy legend Deborah Vance, played by Smart. The storyline follows their renewed partnership.
Deborah aims to sell out Madison Square Garden with her first stand-up show. She was previously barred from performing after breaking a late-night contract.
The Los Angeles premiere took place Wednesday. The season debuts the following day on HBO Max.
