Kawhi Leonard Teams with New Balance for Kawhi V Release Date
After a February court debut at the NBA All-Star Game, New Balance confirmed the Kawhi 5 will arrive this summer. The Boston-based sportswear company designed the shoe with both performance and lifestyle in mind.
Design and performance
The silhouette pairs a premium upper with a FuelCell-cushioned midsole. A Y-Plate at the forefoot aims to improve the first step. New Balance says the model mirrors Leonard’s two-way game and a street-ready aesthetic.
Collaboration and athlete input
Leonard worked closely with New Balance’s design team on his fifth signature shoe. He wanted the model to capture the initial burst and to support high-level on-court play. He also requested aesthetic details that reflect his personal creative style.
Release details
Filmogaz.com reports the Kawhi 5 will be available this summer at NewBalance.com. Select New Balance retail doors will also stock the shoe.
