Apple Initiates Three-Year Plan to Revolutionize the iPhone
Apple is currently executing a three-year strategic plan aimed at reinventing the iPhone’s design and functionality. According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, significant developments are expected within this timeframe.
Apple’s iPhone Revolutionary Timeline
- September 2025: Launch of redesigned iPhone 17 Pro models and a new iPhone Air.
- September 2026: Introduction of a foldable iPhone.
- September 2027: Release of a special 20th-anniversary iPhone.
Apple’s leadership, including hardware chief John Ternus, is prioritizing this roadmap, which commenced last September with the introduction of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. These models presented a new aluminum design that features a plateau for the rear camera setup and incorporates a Ceramic Shield glass area suitable for MagSafe accessories.
Foldable iPhone Details
This year, Apple plans to launch its much-anticipated foldable iPhone. Similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, this device is designed to unfold like a book. This innovative design enables a spacious display, ideal for multimedia consumption, gaming, and multitasking.
iOS 27 will debut new features exclusive to the foldable model, enhancing user experience with side-by-side apps and improved multitasking capabilities reminiscent of iPadOS. The foldable iPhone is projected to include a 7.7-inch inner display and a 5.3-inch outer display, albeit with a slight crease reduction technology rather than a crease-free design.
- Cameras: Expect two rear cameras, one front camera, and a Touch ID power button in place of Face ID.
20th-Anniversary iPhone Vision
Looking towards the celebratory 20th-anniversary iPhone, reports suggest a groundbreaking design featuring a seamless curved glass exterior. This design might include an under-display front camera, but its realization remains tentative.
Record-Breaking iPhone Revenue
Apple recently reported a record revenue of $143.8 billion during the last quarter, with iPhone revenue alone reaching an impressive $85.2 billion. This figure marks an all-time high, underscoring robust demand across all geographic segments.
According to CEO Tim Cook, the iPhone’s recent quarter represented unprecedented demand, exceeding internal expectations. The forthcoming foldable iPhone and the 20th-anniversary edition are anticipated to further bolster this momentum for Apple.
