Insta360 Unveils Snap: A USB-C Selfie Screen

Insta360 has launched a new device called Snap, designed to enhance your selfie and vlogging experience. This USB-C selfie screen connects directly to the back of your smartphone, offering a practical solution for capturing high-resolution content.

Introducing the Snap: A USB-C Selfie Screen

The Snap features a 3.5-inch touchscreen that allows users to adjust camera settings such as zoom and focus. This functionality makes it easy to frame selfies before taking them. Users can enjoy better image quality by leveraging their smartphone’s rear camera.

Co-Development with AMIRO

Insta360 also offers a variant of the Snap developed in collaboration with beauty tech brand AMIRO. This model includes a built-in light that provides various color temperatures and brightness levels, enhancing the lighting for beauty shots.

Pricing and Availability

  • The standard Snap is priced at $79.99.
  • The version with the integrated light costs $89.99.

While searching for “selfie screen” on Amazon reveals various options in the market, Insta360 claims its wired solution offers a more stable connection and lower latency than most wireless screens.

Design and Compatibility

The Snap measures 6.8mm in thickness, making it slightly thinner than the iPhone 17. It attaches magnetically to compatible iPhones featuring MagSafe technology. A magnetic ring is included for attachment to other devices.

Compatibility with Smartphones

The Snap supports Android devices that have DisplayPort Alt Mode. This functionality allows screen mirroring, widening its usability. Insta360 asserts that the Snap is compatible with major camera and social media applications, simplifying the process of capturing and sharing content.

Smartphone models like the iPhone 17 and Galaxy S25 boast rear cameras with resolutions three to five times greater than their front-facing counterparts. Notably, the Galaxy S25 Ultra potentially offers up to sixteen times the front camera resolution. As a result, the Snap is poised to attract content creators and social media enthusiasts, especially if manufacturers continue to underinvest in front camera technology.
