Ravens to Face Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro This Season
The Baltimore Ravens will travel to Brazil for a Week 3 meeting with the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys will serve as the home team at Maracanã Stadium.
Confirmation and context
Two league sources, granted anonymity, told Filmogaz.com about the matchup. The sources were not cleared to discuss the schedule publicly.
The Rio game will be the first of at least three NFL contests planned for the city over the next five years.
Brazil and the NFL’s expanding footprint
This will be the third NFL game staged in Brazil. The Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers played in São Paulo in 2024.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers followed with another São Paulo game in 2025. The Rio match adds to that run.
The event is also one of an NFL-record nine international games scheduled across seven countries in 2026.
Ravens’ international activity and stadium work
Last year, the Ravens secured marketing rights in the United Kingdom. That was their first step in the NFL’s Global Markets Program.
The club previously played in London twice. They lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017 and beat the Tennessee Titans in 2023.
Ravens president Sashi Brown offered no update on overseas plans at the league meeting in Phoenix.
The team is undertaking a nearly $500 million renovation of M&T Bank Stadium. Because of that work, they were unlikely to host games abroad.
Away opponents and schedule timing
Two of the Ravens’ opponents will host international fixtures. The Cowboys will host in Rio, and the Atlanta Falcons will host in Madrid.
The NFL typically releases its full schedule in May.
Brazilian interest and Lamar Jackson
Although the Ravens hold marketing rights only in the U.K., their following in Brazil has grown. Several Brazilian fan accounts show thousands of followers.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson has drawn attention there. After Baltimore’s 41-10 victory over Denver in 2024, he called it a blessing for Brazil to know him.
Jackson said he wanted to visit Brazil. With this Week 3 game, that visit will happen.
