Sony has launched its free game offerings for PS Plus Essential in April 2026, with the rollout commencing in Japan and Asia. This release marks a return to the typical three-game lineup after previous months featured more generous selections.

This month, subscribers can access the following titles:
- Lords of the Fallen 2023 (PS5)
- Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream (PS5)
- Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (PS5, PS4)
The free games will become available to subscribers in other regions at noon local time on April 7. This timing signals a final opportunity for users to claim the March titles if they have not yet done so.
Focus on PS5 Games
April is notable as it marks the first month of 2026 where Sony has included only one game for PS4. This aligns with the company’s announcement from a year ago, which stated that starting in 2026, the emphasis would shift more towards PS5 games. Until this month, PS4 users had enjoyed receiving at least two free games monthly.
As of now, it is unclear when a month will pass without any PS4 offerings. Regular PS Plus users who are not yet transitioning to the PS5 may find that the Extra tier remains the best option, as it provides the most value for last-generation players.
