Jazz and Music Events

Family and Community Events
Explore Easter Promenade on Sunday, April 5, from noon to 3 p.m. The parade starts at Fifth and South streets and is free to attend.
This marks the 93rd promenade and includes a Costume Contest with nine categories. A special 250th birthday category and prizes for families and kids highlight the festivities.
Open Streets and Pet Festival
Open Streets: West Walnut runs Sunday, April 5 through Sunday, May 17, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sections of Walnut and nearby blocks close to cars for pop-ups and outdoor dining.
The Furry Friends of Frankford Pet Festival takes place Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Philadelphia Brewing Company. Adoptions occur from noon to 3 p.m., with live music and food available.
Theater and Film
Confluence Film Festival returns for its third year with the theme “Seeding the Future.” Partners include BlackStar Projects, cinéSPEAK, and local Latino and Asian American film festivals.
Screenings feature MUNDURUKUYÜ – The Forest of the Fish Women, Seeds by Brittany Shyne, and Nocturnes by Anupama Srinivasan. Post-screening talks include filmmakers, scientists, and community advocates.

Local Stages and Exhibits
BA Harrington’s Suite Américaine opens at the Museum for Art in Wood on Friday, April 3. The show runs through Sunday, July 26, with a free opening reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
