Metro Atlanta experienced a surge of gun attacks over the Easter weekend. Multiple incidents left several people injured and at least two dead.

Southwest Atlanta and Washington Street

Early Sunday morning, a 3-year-old was shot in the 900 block of Washington Street SW. The child died at a hospital after being rushed there.

Also on Sunday night, four teenagers were shot near Sparks and Lee streets in southwest Atlanta. Victims were ages 16, two 17-year-olds, and 18.

At least one of the teens was in critical condition. No arrests had been announced as of early Monday.

Two men, aged 25 and 30, suffered gunshot wounds in the 400 block of Edgewood Avenue. Officers arrived just before 2:30 a.m.

Both men were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Atlanta’s Aggravated Assault Unit is investigating.

Northeast and Virginia-Highland Area

A 15-year-old boy was shot before noon Sunday in the 900 block of Highland View NE. Police say the victim was alert and breathing.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an escalating domestic dispute. No further details have been released.

Piedmont Park and Midtown

A 16-year-old girl was fatally shot at Piedmont Park around 9 p.m. Saturday. The attack followed 404 Day celebrations earlier that evening.

Police said the shooting was not tied to the permitted festival. Another 15-year-old girl sustained a shoulder wound and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Southeast and Other Locations

Officers responded to the 900 block of Lakeside Village Drive SE around 2:30 p.m. Saturday after reports of gunfire. Possible victims and suspects had fled.

One injured person later arrived at Grady Hospital and declined to speak with police. The case remains under investigation.

Northwest and Historic Fourth Ward

An 18-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound in the 400 block of Magnolia Street NW just before 11 p.m. Saturday. He was alert and taken to a hospital.

Separately, a 25-year-old man was shot near the Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark on Friday night. He was later located in the 700 block of Ralph McGill Boulevard.

City Response and Calls for Action

Local leaders publicly condemned the weekend’s gun violence. Officials called for coordinated prevention and stronger community programs.
