Securing 2 Golds, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze Medal
The School Sports Cadet Greco‑Roman Wrestling Turkey Championship was held in Ankara from April 3 to 5, 2026. Students from Merkez Ortaokulu represented Denizli alongside athletes from the Denizli Athlete Training Center.
The Denizli contingent delivered strong performances across weight classes. The delegation finished the tournament Securing 2 Golds, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze Medal.
Individual results
- 44 kg — Hasan Hüseyin Çelik became Turkey champion and won the gold medal.
- 48 kg — Hakan Yiğit Bulut also claimed a national title and a gold medal.
- 52 kg — Recep Acımaz finished second and took the silver medal.
- 57 kg — Melih Asan earned third place and a bronze medal.
Team performance
Merkez Ortaokulu’s wrestling team accumulated 101 points in the tournament. They secured third place in the national team rankings.
Officials’ response and future plans
Provincial Youth and Sports Director Süleyman Erdoğan publicly congratulated the athletes and their coaches. He praised the results achieved in Ankara.
