Star Shares Disheartening Gen V Season 3 Update Before The Boys’ Final Season

Sinclair’s update and character hopes

In an interview with Filmogaz.com, Sinclair said she has not heard about Gen V returning. She praised the writers and said she wants Marie to remain complex and flawed.

She noted the show gives her strong material. Sinclair added she enjoys playing characters who make mistakes.

Where season 2 left off

Gen V season 2 ended with Marie and allies being recruited into the resistance. Annie January/Starlight and A-Train reached out to them.

The finale set up crossover potential with The Boys. Marie and Jordan Li appear in The Boys season 5 trailer.

Which Gen V characters might reappear

Names linked to possible returns include Jordan Li, Emma Meyer, Sam Riordan, Cate Dunlap, and Annabeth Moreau. Sam and Cate already appeared in The Boys season 4.

Those characters will likely not be the central focus of The Boys season 5. The main series will concentrate on Homelander, Annie, Hughie, and Billy Butcher.

Franchise timeline and other spinoffs

Laz Alonso hinted at Emerald City Comic Con 2026 that Gen V and Vought Rising could continue after The Boys ends. He suggested those shows would carry the franchise forward.

Vought Rising finished filming earlier this year. Creator Eric Kripke said the Jensen Ackles-led Vought Rising will debut in 2027.

Why 2027 is the target

Kripke cited about eight months of VFX work and time for localization. Vought Rising began filming in 2025.

There was a two-year gap between The Boys seasons 4 and 5. If Gen V follows that pattern, a season 3 would likely not arrive before late 2027.

Release dates and credits

Gen V first premiered on September 28, 2023, on Prime Video. The Boys season 5 opens with a two-episode premiere on April 8 on Prime Video.

Key Gen V credits include showrunner Michele Fazekas. Directors on the series have included Nelson Cragg and Clare Kilner.
