Edison Store Hosts Watch Party for Netflix Series

A longtime Edison hardware store will host a public watch party for the new Netflix series Big Mistakes. The business also served as a filming location for several scenes.

Watch party details

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on April 11. Organizers will project the episode on a widescreen television in the garden department parking lot. Attendees will receive free popcorn from the popcorn machine seen in the show.

The store is at 9 Old Post Road. Local promotion used the phrase Edison Store Hosts Watch Party for Netflix Series.

Filming and store involvement

Owner Angelo Mancuso runs the family business at 9 Old Post Road. His family opened the shop in June 1976, marking roughly fifty years in operation.

The hardware store appears in roughly three scenes after filming last summer. In the series the shop is called Morelli’s Hardware and serves as a campaign headquarters.

Series details

Big Mistakes is a crime comedy created by Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott. The eight-episode production premieres April 9 and a two-minute trailer is already available. Dan Levy stars with Taylor Ortega, and Laurie Metcalf plays the siblings’ mother.

Filming locations

Production also shot scenes in Union Township, Irvington and New Providence. The crew filmed in several New Jersey towns last year.

Community reaction and future prospects

Mancuso said the production treated the staff well and the experience was positive. He hopes Netflix orders more episodes and that the crew returns if the series is renewed.
