New Guest Stars Liza Jessie Peterson, Biko Eisen-Martin Join THE CHI
Filmogaz.com reports that Paramount+ is expanding the ensemble for the final season of The Chi. New guest stars Liza Jessie Peterson and Biko Eisen-Martin join the cast alongside Anthony B. Jenkins and others.
Casting additions
Liza Jessie Peterson will play Patience, Rashaad’s no-nonsense attorney. The character combines legal grit with activist instincts.
Biko Eisen-Martin will portray Smitty, a hardened but reformed gangster. His arc looks poised for intense conflict and redemption.
Anthony B. Jenkins appears as Devante, Emmett and Shay’s son. Devante moves in with Emmett and Kiesha after school trouble.
Darryl Dunning II joins as Rafi, Nuck’s quick-tempered enforcer. Akilah A. Walker will play Amaya, Smitty’s girlfriend.
Laila Odom rounds out the new additions as Jordan, Keith’s nurse girlfriend.
Returning cast and guest stars
The main ensemble includes Jacob Latimore, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, and Shamon Brown Jr. Michael V. Epps, Hannaha Hall, and Jason Weaver also star.
Several familiar faces return in guest roles. Returning actors include Rotimi, Kyla Pratt, and Wendy Raquel Robinson.

Production and creative team
Production on the new season began in January. The season is produced by 20th Television.
The eighth season will be the series’ final chapter. Creators promise the coldest winter yet, with life-or-death choices.
Showrunners and executive producers
The series was created and executive produced by Lena Waithe under her Hillman Grad banner. Co-showrunners Justin Hillian and Jewel Coronel serve as executive producers.
Additional executive producers include Common, Aaron Kaplan, and Rick Famuyiwa. Resheida Brady-Anderson, Derek Dudley, and Shelby Stone of ID8 Multimedia also serve as EPs.
Naomi Funabashi and Rishi Rajani remain on the producing team. James Rogers III joins as an executive producer this season.
Directors and production roles
Deondray Gossfield and Quincy LeNear Gossfield return to direct multiple episodes. They have been promoted to co-executive producers.
