Saturday programme
Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Heidenheim (Saturday, 14:30)
Gladbach drew 3-3 with FC Köln before the international break. That point kept them five clear of the drop zone.
Heidenheim, bottom of the table, also played out a 3-3 draw with Bayer Leverkusen. Marvin Pieringer scored twice as a substitute.
Heidenheim have lost 11 of 13 away games this season. Prediction: Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-2 Heidenheim.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg (Saturday, 14:30)
Leverkusen have endured a difficult spell, failing to win eight of nine matches across competitions. Their Champions League campaign ended recently.
Wolfsburg appointed Dieter Hecking but lost a key home match 0-1 to Werder Bremen. Moritz Jenz saw red in that game.
With suspensions and doubts in the Wolfsburg squad, Leverkusen look favoured. Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 Wolfsburg.
Freiburg vs Bayern Munich (Saturday, 14:30)
Freiburg came into the break with wins over Genk and St. Pauli. They have lost just once in 18 home games across all competitions.
Bayern may be without Harry Kane after a minor England training injury. Expect a reshaped Bayern attack at the Europa-Park Stadion.
Recent meetings saw many goals, so Bayern should edge this rematch. Prediction: Freiburg 1-3 Bayern Munich.
Hamburg vs Augsburg (Saturday, 14:30)
Hamburg blew a two-goal lead late at Borussia Dortmund. The club has managed only one win in its last six Bundesliga outings.
Augsburg were beaten 5-2 at home by Stuttgart before the break. They have lost seven of their last nine away matches.
Home advantage and recent form favour Hamburg. Prediction: Hamburg 2-1 Augsburg.
Hoffenheim vs Mainz (Saturday, 14:30)
Hoffenheim suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to RB Leipzig on March 20. That result deepened a poor run under Christian Ilzer.
Mainz have improved under Urs Fischer. They lost just twice in 18 games since his December arrival and beat Eintracht Frankfurt recently.
Mainz look tough to beat on the road. Prediction: Hoffenheim 1-1 Mainz.
Werder Bremen vs RB Leipzig (Saturday, 14:30)
Werder moved four points clear of the relegation places with a vital win before the break. Daniel Thioune has steadied the side.
RB Leipzig dismantled Hoffenheim 5-0 in their last league outing. They had 22 shots and 13 on target when beating Werder earlier in the season.
Leipzig’s attacking quality should decide this. Prediction: Werder Bremen 1-2 RB Leipzig.
VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund (Saturday, 17:30)
Third-placed Stuttgart host second-placed Dortmund in the televised evening fixture at the MHPArena. A win for Stuttgart would close the gap to five points.
Dortmund have not won at the MHPArena since 2022 and arrive without a win in four visits. Deniz Undav has been in superb form for Stuttgart.
Undav scored prolifically this season and netted for Germany during the break. Expect an entertaining encounter. Prediction: VfB Stuttgart 3-2 Borussia Dortmund.
Sunday fixtures
Union Berlin vs St. Pauli (Sunday, 14:30)
Union have struggled for consistency since January, failing to win ten of 12 Bundesliga matches. They lost 4-0 to Bayern before the break.
St. Pauli produced a strong February but managed only one point from nine in March. A recent defeat to Freiburg featured a goalkeeping error by Nikola Vasilj.
This looks like a tight game. Prediction: Union Berlin 1-1 St. Pauli.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs FC Köln (Sunday, 16:30)
Eintracht lost 1-2 to Mainz before the break. Spanish coach Albert Riera is still settling into his role.
FC Köln sacked Lukas Kwasniok last week. René Wagner will act as interim manager after serving as Kwasniok’s assistant.
Köln have won only twice in 18 matches since November. Frankfurt should have the edge at home. Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 FC Köln.
