Kris Marshall Responds to Beyond Paradise Fan Complaints

Kris Marshall has addressed fan complaints about scheduling delays as Beyond Paradise prepares to return. The actor spoke about the issue on the TV Reload podcast with host Benjamin Morris.

International audience and airing delays

Beyond Paradise has built a large audience since its 2022 launch. The series attracts millions of viewers and reaches North America, Canada and Australia.

Marshall said he had seen complaints from viewers abroad. Australian viewers, he noted, had raised issues about episodes arriving weeks after the UK broadcast.

Marshall responds to spoilers and production rules

The actor admitted he often spoils plot details. He said producers regularly chastise him for revealing too much.

Marshall joked he needs more media training to stop the leaks. He also said he feared he had “dropped another spoiler” recently.

Filming locations, family life and wellbeing

Kris Marshall first played DI Humphrey Goodman on Death in Paradise. He left that show in 2017 after three series, before returning in the spin-off Beyond Paradise in 2022.

Beyond Paradise films in Devon and Cornwall. That allows Marshall to return home every other weekend, unlike Death in Paradise, filmed in Guadeloupe.

Daily routine and mental health

Marshall described renting the same property near the set. He enjoys a quiet, rocky beach with a surf break.

He surfs most mornings and evenings and hikes on the Moors. He said the outdoor routine helps him manage long shoots.

Workload

The actor noted the shoot can be intense. Production runs about 70 hours a week for roughly 23 consecutive weeks.
