The procession started and ended at the church of San Pedro el Viejo. A saeta was performed by Ismael de la Rosa from the Casa de la Villa balcony.

Historical background

The brotherhood dates back to 1940. It safeguards one of Madrid’s oldest religious images.

The image is attributed to an anonymous 18th-century sculptor. Records place it in the parish from 1756.

Nuestro Padre Jesús del Gran Poder and María Santísima de la Esperanza Macarena

Delegate Borja Carabante attended the second procession. The route began and finished at the colegiata of Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo y San Isidro.

This brotherhood was founded by Sevillian cofrades living in Madrid. It keeps strong ties to Andalusian tradition.

Route and musical tributes

The procession traversed several principal streets in the city center. Two saetas were sung during the journey.

  • Saray Muñoz sang from the Hotel Moderno.
  • Ismael de la Rosa performed from the balcony of the Real Casa de Correos.

The events drew local officials and residents. Filmogaz.com covered the Holy Thursday processions in central Madrid.
