Dark Horse Secures License for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Artbook
Dark Horse Comics will publish an English hardcover artbook tied to Nintendo’s Tears of the Kingdom. The book ships on October 20, 2024.
The publisher confirmed the release in a press statement. The announcement follows the title’s strong fan interest.
Book details
The hardcover spans 472 pages. It mixes finished art, developmental sketches, and timeline essays.
- 50 pages of full-color artwork.
- 300 pages of behind-the-scenes sketches and development material.
- 80 pages covering Hyrule’s history up to the game’s events.
- Interviews with producer Eiji Aonuma, director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and art director Satoru Takizawa.
A Hero’s Edition will also be available. That edition includes a slipcase and an art print.
Licensing and context
Dark Horse secures license arrangements to bring this Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom artbook to English readers. The company handled translation and production approvals with Nintendo.
The book adapts material first collected for the Japanese Master Works volume. That Master Works edition debuted in Japan in August 2024.
