Angkrish Raghuvanshi Focused on Winning Matches for His Team
Angkrish Raghuvanshi, a 21-year-old batter for Mumbai and Kolkata Knight Riders, measures his success by team results. He is expanding his game as a top-order batter and occasional wicketkeeper.
Versatility and practice
Raghuvanshi took on wicketkeeping duties for his Mumbai T20 side when the team needed him. He said it was a fresh challenge he enjoyed and one he practiced regularly.
He has featured in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Mumbai. He did not get many opportunities in red-ball cricket for his state.
Selection and competition
Kolkata Knight Riders already list Tim Seifert and uncapped Tejasvi Dahiya as specialist keepers. That makes finding the ideal combination a tactical challenge early in the IPL.
Raghuvanshi acknowledged rising competition across formats. Players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma are also adding new skills to their games.
Mindset
He says he avoids dwelling on selection battles. Instead, he focuses on continuous improvement in batting, fielding and keeping.
As he told PTI, Angkrish Raghuvanshi focused on winning matches for his team and evaluates performances by team outcomes.
Coach and development at KKR
Abhishek Nayar has taken charge as KKR head coach. Raghuvanshi called Nayar a strong cricketing mind and a valuable mentor.
He expects to learn from Nayar and contribute to the team’s success. His aim is to help KKR win matches and compete for the title.
Injury scare in Jaipur
During a Vijay Hazare Trophy match in Jaipur, Raghuvanshi was stretchered off while attempting a catch. The incident occurred in December.
He felt dizzy for about ten minutes and underwent concussion checks by the team doctor. He recovered and returned to play two days later.
Filmogaz.com relays Raghuvanshi’s emphasis on team-first performance and ongoing development. He said he treats every match as equally important.
