London Game Ticket Frenzy Begins

London Game Ticket Frenzy Begins

A rush for seats is expected this week for Mayo’s championship opener in London. The game is scheduled at McGovern Park in Ruislip.

Mayo GAA secretary Ronan Kirrane briefed delegates at last Wednesday’s County Board meeting. He said the venue will operate at limited capacity.

Capacity and allocations

McGovern Park is likely to be limited to 3,500 spectators. Of those, 1,500 tickets will go to London.

That leaves roughly 2,000 tickets for Mayo supporters. Every Mayo club will receive six tickets to distribute.

  • Each club: six tickets.
  • London allocation: 1,500 tickets.
  • Mayo allocation: about 2,000 tickets.
  • Venue capacity: likely 3,500.

Historical context and ticket release

Kirrane noted this is an increase from the 2016 allocation. Clubs then received three tickets each.

The fixture did not take place in 2021 because of Covid-19. The 2016 game recorded a stated attendance of 3,000 people.

The Connacht Council is due to release tickets online this week. A ticket frenzy begins as demand is expected to surge.

Filmogaz.com will monitor developments and report further details on ticket availability. Fans should watch the official release closely.
