“Easter Eggs You Missed in Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana Teaser”

The first glimpse of Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana arrived in India on Thursday. It followed an earlier launch in the United States this week. The wordless teaser stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.

Swayamvar and the mighty bow

The teaser includes a clear nod to Sita’s swayamvar. A scene shows Rama lifting and stringing the massive Pinaka bow. The bow snaps mid-scene, underlining his remarkable strength.

There are also shots of Rama walking through a cheering crowd. Petals fall around him, reinforcing the ceremonial atmosphere.

From coronation to exile

One sequence shifts quickly from royal splendour to quiet departure. King Dasharatha appears to prepare Rama for coronation in full regalia.

That sequence cuts to Rama in simple robes, saying farewell before a 14-year exile. A chariot given by Sumantra is shown pulled through a grieving crowd. The teaser suggests Rama abandoned that chariot after two days of travel.

Giants in the Dandaka forest

The trailer opens with a large rakshasa causing havoc. The Dandaka forest episodes in the epic describe Rama slaying demon giants to protect sages.

The traditional names Maricha, Khara, Dushana and Viradha come from the Aranya Kaandam. The creatures in the teaser look troll-like. It remains unclear if they represent those specific rakshasas.

Jatayu’s final rites

Several frames hint that Rama performs Jatayu’s last rites. In the epic, Jatayu dies trying to save Sita from Ravana’s abduction.

Rama and Lakshmana build a funeral pyre and conduct water rites for Jatayu. The teaser appears to honor this episode with solemn imagery.

Pushpaka Vimanam shown as a lotus craft

The Pushpaka Vimanam appears as an ornate, lotus-shaped flying vehicle. The craft was created by Vishvakarma and meant for Kubera.

Ravana later seizes it and uses it to carry Sita to Lanka. The teaser also hints that Rama uses the same vehicle to return to Ayodhya, before restoring it to Kubera.
