Teenagers Arrested for Alleged Stolen Vehicle on Humber Bridge

Humberside Police arrested two teenage boys after officers spotted a suspected stolen vehicle on the Humber Bridge on Friday 27 March. The car failed to stop when signalled, prompting a brief pursuit.

Pursuit and interception

Officers followed the vehicle until it halted on the A15. The occupants then ran from the scene on foot.

Police dogs and roads policing officers searched the surrounding area. Two males matching descriptions were found in a nearby field.

Arrests and allegations

Both suspects are 17 years old. They were taken into custody and questioned by Humberside Police.

  • Suspect one was arrested on suspicion of two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, failing to stop and dangerous driving.
  • Suspect two was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

Bail and enquiries

Both teenagers were later released on conditional bail. Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
