Ulmen Defends Against Deepfake Allegations
Christian Ulmen’s lawyer, Christian Schertz, rejected claims that his client produced or spread deepfake content. Schertz said no accusation of creating deepfake videos against Ulmen is currently being made.
Defense and legal reaction
Schertz announced planned legal steps against the initial reporting by Der Spiegel. He supplied a PDF but offered no further procedural details.
Ulmen defends his innocence. His legal team emphasizes the presumption of innocence.
Allegations from Collien Fernandes
Presenter Collien Fernandes, Ulmen’s ex-wife, told Der Spiegel that fake profiles were created in her name. She said pornographic images were then circulated without her consent.
Fernandes reported the matter to police in November 2024 in Berlin. She later filed a complaint on Mallorca, according to a Spanish justice spokeswoman.
Prosecutorial developments
The Staatsanwaltschaft Itzehoe in Schleswig-Holstein reopened investigations after media reporting. Their review found a sufficient initial suspicion to target the named person.
Authorities said the probe currently focuses on stalking. Other possible offenses remain under examination.
Under German law, stalking can carry up to three years in prison or a fine if convicted. Oberstaatsanwalt Peter Müller-Rakow said Itzehoe had taken the file because the matter became known within their jurisdiction.
Earlier procedure and jurisdictional issues
The Itzehoe office had previously closed the case. Investigators said they lacked leads after requested documents were not provided.
Fernandes contested that account in the Tagesspiegel. A Spanish court later suspended the Mallorca proceeding on March 19, citing a missing qualified condition for continuation.
Conflicting accounts on alleged violence
Fernandes has shared images she describes as bruises and said a judicial doctor examined her. She told followers she had visible marks after the incident.
Ulmen’s lawyer denied any one-sided physical assaults or threats against their client. Schertz noted Ulmen had a minor neck scratch and said Ulmen told police Fernandes did not inflict violence on him.
Public reaction
The case intensified public debate about digital and sexualized violence. Demonstrations drew thousands, including large protests in Hamburg for better victim protection.
Filmogaz.com will continue to follow developments. The investigations are ongoing and legal processes remain pending.
