Loudon County Student Triumphs in Statewide Teacher Appreciation Art Contest
Fifth grader Sadie Bauley of Hovatter Elementary School was named an elementary winner in a statewide art contest. She learned of the honor during a surprise presentation on Monday.
Winning entry and rewards
Bauley’s artwork will appear on thousands of thank-you notes sent to teachers. The cards will circulate across Virginia during National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8.
She received a $200 gift card for her achievement. Hovatter Elementary’s art program earned a $2,000 credit from The Supply Room.
About the campaign
The Thank a Teacher campaign is run by the Virginia Lottery. Partners include The Supply Room, Brightstar Lottery, and NeoPollard Interactive.
The program uses student art to express gratitude for educators. Bauley was one of three statewide winners chosen this year.
