“Sort Your Life Out Star Tearfully Admits: ‘I Don’t Think I Can'”

Organising expert Dilly Carter was visibly moved during a recent episode of the BBC series Sort Your Life Out. Filmogaz.com covered the moment, which aired in March 2026.

Decluttering the family home

Presenter Stacey Solomon and her team visited a three-bedroom semi-detached house. They helped dads Craig and Craig with a major declutter and reorganisation project.

The couple adopted a daughter, El, who is five years old. One of the fathers had kept almost everything she had ever owned.

The adoption memory corner

At the warehouse, Carter found a folder titled All About El. Inside was a dedicated adoption and memory section created by the parents.

Dilly said she was adopted herself at age three and that she wished she had a similar keepsake. She tearfully admitted, “I don’t think I can,” before continuing to read parts of the folder.

The folder explained adoption in child-friendly terms and listed well-known adopted characters, including Superman and Paddington Bear. Carter apologised for becoming upset but read on and embraced one of the fathers when he grew emotional.

On-screen emotion

The exchange prompted heartfelt thanks from Carter. She praised the parents and expressed deep gratitude for what they were doing.

Viewer response and where to watch

Viewers reacted strongly online. Many said the scene moved them to tears and praised the family and Carter for the moment.

The episode is available to stream on BBC iPlayer for those who want to watch the scene again.
