Israel Adesanya, Joe Pyfer Hit Targets at UFC Seattle Middleweight Weigh-In
Israel Adesanya and Joe Pyfer both made weight at 186 pounds on Friday. They used the one-pound allowance for a non-title bout.
The pair are set to headline Saturday’s card in Seattle. At UFC Seattle, the middleweight weigh-in unfolded with minimal drama.
Adesanya is seeking his first victory since April 2023. He has lost three straight fights, a first in his career.
Pyfer can move into the top 10 with an upset win over the two-time champion. The matchup carries major implications for both men.
Co-main and notable bouts
Former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso weighed 126 pounds. Top contender Maycee Barber hit championship weight at 125 pounds.
Barber arrives on a seven-fight win streak. A title shot could be at stake with a victory on Saturday.
Veteran Michael Chiesa made 170 pounds for his bout with Niko Price. That fight is expected to be Chiesa’s retirement bout.
Weigh-in atmosphere
The commission used the standard two-hour window for the morning weigh-ins. Only Barber and Ignacio Bahamondes appeared after the first hour.
Neither fighter looked excessively drained on the scales. The towering Bahamondes also hit 155 pounds for his fight with Tofiq Musayev.
