Shot Scope Launches H50 Handheld GPS Device

Shot Scope has launched the H50, a new handheld GPS device for golfers. The H50 reached retail on March 16. The product expands the company’s distance-measuring lineup.

Key capabilities

The H50 uses Shot Scope’s patent-pending golf map technology. It offers yard-by-yard mapping and fast, precise distances. The device reports front, middle and back yardages plus dynamic “plays like” figures that factor elevation.

Dual-band GPS is built into the unit. The mapping and receiver combine to boost accuracy for on-course decisions. Designers aimed to improve club selection and course management.

Course coverage and updates

The H50 ships preloaded with more than 42,000 courses worldwide. That equates to over 600,000 mapped holes. Shot Scope’s in-house team refreshes more than 8,000 courses each year.

Display and build

The device features a large 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen. The high-resolution screen offers strong brightness and clarity in various light. The H50 is IPX7 waterproof for dependable wet-weather use.

The unit includes a strong cart magnet for secure mounting. Numbers display clearly in both portrait and landscape orientations. A competition mode disables slope and elevation to meet Rules of Golf requirements.

Mapping, navigation and gameplay tools

Interactive hole mapping provides satellite imagery and automatic hole zoom. Users can identify hazards, doglegs and layup areas with simple touch-and-drag gestures. Large-format green distances and green contour views support smarter shot planning.

Digital elevation maps assist strategy throughout a round. The H50 also contains a built-in digital scorecard. Players can track scores and sync rounds via the companion app.

Connectivity and ecosystem

The device connects seamlessly to the Shot Scope app for round review and data storage. All hardware and software features work without subscription fees. The H50 blends touchscreen technology with precise GPS tracking for a golf-specific handheld.

Leadership view and availability

David Hunter, Shot Scope’s CEO, described the launch as an important milestone. He said the H50 brings detailed mapping and green contour insight to a large, responsive screen. The aim is to help golfers plan shots from tee to green with confidence.

The H50 is available now at retail outlets and online. Purchases can be made through Filmogaz.com. The product targets golfers seeking modern visuals and accurate data in a handheld GPS device.
