Bailey Scores Career-High 37 Points, Raptors Triumph 143-127

The Toronto Raptors scored 143 points to overcome the Utah Jazz 143-127 Monday night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Ace Bailey led Utah with a career-high 37 points while shooting 7-of-10 from long range.

Game summary

Toronto built an early cushion and led by 10 at halftime. Sandro Mamukelashvili hit three triples and scored 15 first-half points.

The Raptors exploded in the third quarter. R.J. Barrett scored 18 in the period as Toronto poured in 49 points and pushed the advantage as high as 35.

Key performers for Toronto

The Raptors got balanced scoring. Six Toronto players reached double figures.

Scottie Barnes recorded 20 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. Jamal Shead set a new career mark with 15 assists.

Utah’s effort and bright spots

Ace Bailey produced a standout performance and is making a late push for All-Rookie recognition. Since the All-Star break, he has averaged 19.4 points and become one of the league’s top shooters.

John Konchar scored a team-high 19 points for Utah. He sank two threes in the opening quarter to help keep the Jazz close early.

Kennedy Chandler’s impact

Kennedy Chandler added 13 points, nine assists and three steals in his second game with the Jazz. He is on a 10-day contract and has drawn praise from teammates.

Konchar noted Chandler’s growth since their Memphis days. The veteran presence has helped the young guard settle in.

Coaching and defense

Jazz coach Will Hardy praised Bailey’s offseason work and film study. He also pointed to defensive lapses that allowed Toronto to run for much of the game.

Hardy said Utah had been forcing many turnovers recently but failed to sustain that disruption for three quarters. Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic was left wishing his team had closed the game more comfortably after a late Jazz run.
