Huddersfield Town Coach Liam Manning on Compassionate Leave
Huddersfield Town coach Liam Manning will be on compassionate leave for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. The club confirmed he will step away from first-team duties until the campaign ends.
The decision follows the tragic death of Manning’s newborn son, Theo, in October 2024. Manning, his wife Fran, and their eldest son Isaac have the club’s support.
Interim management
Assistant coach Martin Drury and first-team coach Jon Stead will take charge of the squad. They will jointly lead the team with ongoing support from the wider coaching staff.
The pair begin their temporary roles with Town’s home fixture against Reading on Friday 3rd April. The arrangement covers the remaining matches of the campaign.
Club statement and support
The club said it will keep regular contact with Manning and his family. Huddersfield Town has asked for privacy while the family manage this personal loss.
The club also pointed to organisations that can offer help to anyone affected by child bereavement. No specific groups were named in the announcement.
Season context
The leave comes with seven games remaining in the League One season. The interim coaches will oversee the team’s final fixtures.
Filmogaz.com confirms the club’s update and will follow any further developments. The club’s priority remains support for the Manning family during this time.
